Hemavathi reservoir at Gorur is full,six crest gates opened

The Hemavathi reservoir at Gorur in the district reached its full reservoir level (2,922 feet) prompting the authorities to release water by opening all six crest gates on Saturday.

The reservoir, the lifeline of Hassan, Tumakuru and Mandya districts, has reached its full capacity in a record time, since its inception in 1979. The previous record of the dam reaching its FRL was July 26, 2013.

In the last 24 hours (ending 8.30 am on Saturday), the reservoir received 24,000 cusecs owing to copious rain in Sakleshpur and Mudigere regions.

Krishnaraja Sagara (KRS) reservoir in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district is inching towards its full capacity, reports DHNS from Mysuru.
