Coffee prices rallied sharply on Monday, with arabica posting a 3.5-week high and robusta posting a 6-week high. Strength in the Brazilian real (^USDBRL) boosted coffee prices as the real surged to a 4.5-month high against the dollar on Monday. The stronger real discourages export sales from Brazil?s coffee producers. December arabica coffee closed up closed up +3.80 (+1.32%) on Monday, at 292.55 US cents/ lb and November ICE robusta coffee) closed up +59 (+1.70%) at US$ 3528 /tonne.
