The star attraction at the three-day Krishi Mela in Bengaluru was a big Gir bull named Parameshwar. The bull, stationed at the entrance of the Krishi Mela drew hundreds of visitors and became the most photographed ‘celebrity’ at the mela. The bull was bought for Rs 24 lakh from a Rajasthan seller in 2015. Rabbits and hens displayed at the mela are also an attraction. The Krishi Mela has been organised by Karnataka Govt at the Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra (GKVK) campus, Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala inaugurated the mela.

ಬಗೆ ಬಗೆಯ ಮೇಕೆಗಳು
‘ಬಲಿತ ಕುರಿ 30 ಕೆ.ಜಿ.ಯಿಂದ 50 ಕೆ.ಜಿ.ವರೆಗೆ ತೂಗುತ್ತದೆ. ರುಚಿಕರ ಮಾಂಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ಕುರಿಗೆ ₹ 10 ಸಾವಿರದಿಂದ ₹ 1.5 ಲಕ್ಷದವರೆಗೆ ಬೆಲೆ ಇದೆ. ಒಂದು ಕೆ.ಜಿ. ಮಾಂಸವು ₹ 1.5 ಸಾವಿರದಿಂದ ₹ 2 ಸಾವಿರದವರೆಗೆ ಮಾರಾಟವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಕಪ್ಪುವರ್ಣದ ‘ಖಡಕ್‌ನಾಥ’: ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರದೇಶ ಹಾಗೂ ಛತ್ತೀಸ್‌ಗಡ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳ ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು ಜನರು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ಕೋಳಿಯ ತಳಿ ಇದು. ಇದರ ರಕ್ತ ಕರಿವರ್ಣದ್ದು. ಮೂಳೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಂಸವೂ ಕಪ್ಪು.
ಕಪ್ಪುವರ್ಣದ ‘ಖಡಕ್‌ನಾಥ’:ಅವಸಾನದ ಅಂಚನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿದ್ದ ಈ ಕೋಳಿ ತಳಿಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಐದಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಈ ಕೋಳಿಯನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲೂ ರೈತರು ಸಾಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Over 13 lakh people, including farmers, students, research scholars, scientists and entrepreneurs, visited the Mela in the last four days. Over 5.5 lakh people visited on the last day.
While 1.1 lakh people visited on November 15, the first day, the numbers went up to 2.5 lakh on the second day and four lakh on the third day.
According to the organisers, the Mela saw an overall transaction of ₹5.82 crore. While a transaction of ₹97 lakh was done on the first day, business went up to ₹1.5 crore on the second day and ₹1.6 crore on the third day.
The last day saw transactions to the tune of ₹1.75 crore, the organisers said.
