Decline in demand affects pepper prices
Declining demand in the chinese market for spices due to Coronavirus issue and the resultant price drop has reflected in the kochi pepper market on Tuesday.
The new arrivals from the Wayanad and coorg which will harvest from next week will make more availability of the pepper in the market.
Meanwhile, in the Kochi market, prices declined by ₹2 per kg, with an average price realisation of ₹314 per kg. The offtake was 26 tonnes. The MG1 garbled variety was quoted at ₹334, while new pepper stood at ₹304.
