Karnataka pepper pulls down prices

Spot prices of Black pepper on Friday fell further as availability of large Karnataka pepper at cheap price.

Business Line reports “Karnataka sellers were offering their produce at ₹350 a kg plus transportation cost to compete against cheap imported pepper. Availability of imported pepper at lower rates is aiding the price fall daily in the spot market,”

Spot prices fell by Rs 200 a quintal to Rs 36,800 (ungarbled) and Rs 38,800 (garbled).

Ungarbled – Rs 368 / Kg and Garbled – Rs 388 /Kg.
