Kannur International Airport to bring Coorg closer
If you ever picture yourself walking through the coffee plantation with green graceful nature surrounding you, then it's time to pack your bags. The fourth international airport in Kerala has started its service in Kannur district making it possible for every nature lover to enjoy their time in Coorg. The airport is the first one in the northern part of the state and provides easy access to one of the desired tourist destinations in India. Earlier the travelers had to drive 140kms from Mangalur which was the closest airport to Coorg but now with the availability of Kannur airport's domestic and international services, people can easily visit Coorg which is at a distance of 81kms from the airport. The airport has regular domestic flights from the major cities of the country.

Coorg which is known as the Scotland of India is visited by a large number of tourists every year. It is one of the most popular hill stations in the country which is famous for its mesmerizing landscapes with streams flowing across them. The tourists also seek to experience the local culture of the place which is famous for its hospitality.
The Kannur airport portrays the rich culture of Malabar as well as Kodagu in Karnataka, where the misty valley of Coorg lies. The walls are covered with paintings of classical Indian dance forms such as Theyyam, Kathakali from Kerala and Yakshagana- the classical theatre art form of Karnataka.
Homestays in Kodagu will soon be booked out. Kannur International Airport ushers in waves of tourists and opens countless avenues for development.
