Import pepper pounds spot prices further

Black pepper spot prices reduced further due to high imports through various ports.

According to Business Line – Hundreds of pepper containers are lying at various ports and ICDs in the country waiting for DRI clearance.

Sources said pepper from high range were fetching little higher than cheap imported pepper in market.

Spot prices dropped by Rs 100 a quintal to Rs 42,200 (ungarbled) and Rs 44,200 (garbled).

Ungarbled – Rs 422 / Kg and Garbled – Rs 442 /Kg.
