Black pepper turns hot on high demand

Black pepper prices increased on Tuesday due to limited availability of high range pepper.Spot prices increased by Rs 900 a quintal in four days.

According to BusinessLine, Markets were flooded with imported pepper but buyers were looking for good quality pepper from High ranges of Karnataka and Kerala.

High range sellers were not ready to release high bulk density material.

Spot prices closed at Rs 43,100 (ungarbled) and Rs 45,100 (garbled).

Ungarbled – Rs 431 / Kg and Garbled – Rs 451 /Kg.
