Black pepper prices up on selling pressure

Black pepper spot prices were up on Thursday in Kochi market on selling pressure created by coorg and wayanad pepper growers.

According to Businessline- “The growers from coorg and wayanada regions wanted to sell their stock at Rs 330 per kg, but buyers are willing to take the commodity only at Rs 325”.

Pepper prices of all varieties reported a hike of Rs 2 per kg . 17 tonnes were available for trading.

Spot prices gained Rs 200 a quintal to Rs 32,700 (ungarbled) and Rs 34,700 (garbled).

Ungarbled – Rs 327/Kg and Garbled – Rs 347/Kg,New – Rs 312/Kg.
