Arabica Coffee futures on New York gained as worries rises on Brazil blossom due to low rainfall prediction over major coffee growing states of Brazil.

December Arabica coffee settled up 2.55 cent at $1.2685 per lb.

“Brazilian Coffee areas remain generally dry, trees remain stressed and there are concerns that flowers are being aborted, rather than setting as cherries for the 2018 harvest” -Jack Scoville, broker Price Futures.

Report says Most of coffee growing regions requires some consistent rainfall to keep the crop alive for next harvest. Coffee trees are under stress due to last year production.

Unfortunately Major Weather forecast predicts Brazil’s coffee regions to remain dry this month since no rains are in forecast.

“Extreme heat is the pressing issue at the moment, raising the risk of flowers aborting”.
