Robusta coffee prices edge higher towards a four-year high

Robusta coffee futures on ICE rose on Friday, edging towards a four-year high set this month.

* November robusta coffee LRCc2 rose 0.3% to $2,114 a tonne by 1037 GMT. The benchmark second position set a four-year high of $2,130 this month.

* The market continued to derive support from concerns that the flow of supplies from top robusta producer Vietnam could face disruptions related to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as ongoing shortages of container freight capacity.

* Coffee prices have ticked up in recent weeks as the near-term supply outlook has been depressed by hot and dry weather in Brazil and Colombia, coupled with pandemic-related export disruption in Vietnam, Fitch Solutions said.

* December arabica coffee KCc2 rose 0.1% to $1.8840 per lb.
